Hope For The Wild

This event is no longer on sale.

Thursday May 2

6:00 PM  –  9:00 PM

Join the Akron Zoo for Hope for the Wild, presented by the zoo’s Professionals Advocating for Wildlife.  Featured during this very special event will be Kartick Satyanarayan and Geeta Seshamani from Wildlife SOS based in India. Learn about Wildlife SOS and how they take action against animal cruelty, rescue wildlife in distress, work to resolve human-wildlife conflicts while promoting and educating the public about the need for habitat protection. Wildlife SOS has formal ‘co-operative’ agreements in place with state governments and forest departments in more than nine states in India to help rescue and rehabilitate the animals in distress. Although Wildlife SOS is mainly known for its work with the “Dancing Bears” or Sloth Bears of India, they also lead active projects to help leopards, elephants, reptiles and many other species.

Funds raised at Hope for the Wild will benefit the zoo’s Conservation Fund, and a portion of the proceeds will directly benefit Wildlife SOS to ensure they are able to continue their important work to save endangered and threatened wildlife.

This is an adults-only event. You must be 18 years or older.
